Poor thing. What a horror story. Ah well, at least you made it in one piece!
Interesting that you used your back brake only initially - why was that? It's generally recommended that you should be getting into the habit of using your front brake as your main brake, and use the back brake as supplementary to it (about a 70/30 or 60/40 ratio) (unless it's raining or you're going at walking speed). Ah there I go again - please forgive me for pontificating, can't help myself sometimes...
Anyway, glad you made it! Now you need to write a story about a really good ride you had! I'll link to this entry from the club page.
