A Conversation for The Minos Front

ED-E42 Posted Dec 4, 2002
*The door thuds open with unnecessary force. Wrapped in a cloak as black as the night behind him it is night, right? a heavily armored man looks over the startled occupants. As he seems to have finished with his entrance most of the bar flies turn back to their drinks, leaving only shifty glances in his direction. His eyes light upon the bar and he makes his way to a seat occupied by a heavy set man that could have been a boxer in an earlier life.*
War: You. Are. in. my. seat.
*The man looks up angrily, but whatever he sees under the black locks of War's hair makes the sudden flash of glory long past fade. He throws down a few bills on the bar and moves to the farthest seat.*
War: Barkeep! Clean glass! Two ice cubes! And your finest bottle of Bourbon!

Wargamer (The Wanderer) Posted Dec 4, 2002
[Marshal] Hmm... Agressive, angry, intolerent of others... you're a Milkman, aren't you?
Inside
Mystrunner Posted Dec 4, 2002
*Slides the glass of bourbon over to War.*
Evenin' War. Good to see you.
Inside
Apollo Posted Dec 4, 2002
*watches War and Marshal*
*to Lily* Perhaps there is some potential here...good. We'll need it.
*goes over to bartender, purposely within earshot of Lily* So tell me, what do you know about these rebels who can stay one step ahead of the government? They must have quite a bit of organization...
Inside
Mystrunner Posted Dec 4, 2002
*Whispers*
They are rather oranized, but staying one step ahead of the feds isn't much, if you know my meaning. Feds have been sending hitmen after them, but all they get back are corpses...
Inside
Apollo Posted Dec 4, 2002
Yeah... corpses... *Apollo stares off into space for a moment, but quickly returns his focus to the bartender*
That's why one must always be prepared
*rolls tux back to reveal a large, golden, fully-automatic hand gun (with bullet expanding technology that allows hundreds of rounds before reloading)*
Inside
Mystrunner Posted Dec 4, 2002
Nice, very nice.
*Pushes trenchcoat aside, revealing the hilts of both katanas, and lots of other pointed implements.*
I am also ready...

Lily [-2+1+0+(8*5)+3=42] Posted Dec 4, 2002
*Lily sips the martini and listens carefully. Curious, she shifts in her seat so that she can see Apollo and the other man. She notices the swords in the other man's coat.*
Nice equipment. What's it for?
*Lily cocks her head, hoping that he'd tell her about Daedalus so that she could stop pretending to be ignorant.*

ED-E42 Posted Dec 4, 2002
Sorry for this, but i really don't think War is gonna fit into the story... A891623 has the bio for the char that will be participating
*The air crackles with energy as a tear forms in reality. A monstrous scaled hand reaches through and tears War from his seat at the bar. There is a blinding flash of light from the portal moments before it closes. The occupants of the bar are left with the strange nagging feeling that something is off, but no recollection of War or the disturbing scene moments before.*
=========================
*A small boy, perhaps eleven or twelve slips un-noticed through the door and works his way to the bar. A voice whispers quietly from his ankle length trenchcoat.*
Voice: Are you sure this is the place?
Boy: How many times must i tell you to be quiet?
*He sits down at a stool at the far end of the bar from the others and observes them from beneath stringy raven black bangs.*

Dizzy H. Muffin Posted Dec 4, 2002
[Yar] Well, I'm sure prepared. I've got a bunch of wacky stuff ...

Wargamer (The Wanderer) Posted Dec 4, 2002
*Marshal looks at the others showing off their weapons.*
[Marshal] You know, for people who need stealth and cunning to hunt down your enemies, you can make a real spectacle of yourself...
*Turns to the young visitor.*
[Marshal] Hey kid, aren't you a little young to be in a bar?
Inside
ED-E42 Posted Dec 4, 2002
*The boy's slate eyes light upon the speaker.*
Boy: What if I am? What are YOU going to do about it? Call the police perhaps? i doubt anyone in this machismo-fest would appreciate that all too much... although all the weapons in here would most certainly bring rise to some very interesting legal questions... And should you not be more concerned with Miss Thomason and her oh-so-subtle attempts to illicit information from you all? Perhaps you should take some of your seemingly abundant time to reorganize your priorities before wasting it questioning MY business.

Apollo Posted Dec 4, 2002
*while half-listening to the conversation of Lily and the bartender, Apollo adjusts his watch so that, in the reflection, he can keep an eye on Marshal and the kid*
Barkeep... one vodka martini, shaken please.

ED-E42 Posted Dec 4, 2002
For the record, I'm not as much of an a**hole as my character is. =P

Wargamer (The Wanderer) Posted Dec 4, 2002
Me neither!
*Marshal pulls out a small metal cylinder with a white orb on the end. He don's a pair of shades, and presses the button. Lily screams as the flare-charge leaves her blinded and confused. Marshal catches Eddie's eye as he steps over to Lily.*
[Marshal] Oh dear, I'm sorry! This thing's been faulty for weeks. Are you alright!? Look up at me. How many fingers am I holding up?
*While Lily is still blinded, Marshal drops a tiny tracking beacon the size of a pin into Lily's bag.*
Inside
ED-E42 Posted Dec 4, 2002
ROFL - that was great!
*That same voice whisper from inside the boy's coat.*
SyD: That photon surge wasn't within normal limits... this is not one of the regulars.
Boy: Yes I know. Run a sweep of the rest of the occupants, you know what to look for - keep it passive.

Apollo Posted Dec 4, 2002
*watches the scene transpire over the top of his martini glass... notices something falling into Lily's bag* might want to be careful with stuff like that, I'm not sure she has a bag, but I'll play along
*decides whatever it was, it was intentional, a good idea, and done very smoothly--also decides that he likes Marshal*
You should be very cautious with your toys my friend...

ED-E42 Posted Dec 4, 2002
probably shouldn't have said that it affected her, but have let her decide... as long as she's cool with it i haven't a complaint

Lily [-2+1+0+(8*5)+3=42] Posted Dec 4, 2002
*Lily's eyes widened for a brief second in surprise, but she quickly fought down her shock and smothered it under a small frown. She turned to the boy.*
Machismo-fest?
/raises brow/
That's a rather large word for a little kid, but you're not a kid, are you?
/glances to rest of the people crowded around the bar/
I'll assume then that we're all here for a common purpose?
Key: Complain about this post
