Whilst roaming through the abandoned wastes of Askh2g2, I came across this thread - F19585?thread=140464 - and thus a community was born... smiley - brave

Cor!

Incidentally, someone told me something the other day that was what I'd call interesting-lite... can you name the footballer who was top points provider in the Fantasy Football League's first season, when it was first invented? For the second season it was someone obvious for the early nineties (must have been Shearer or Cole) but the top scorer in the first season was one I'd never have thought of.

Any ideas?

Oh well that was a bit of a guess. Deano was the only one whacking the ball in on a regular basis for Sheffield back in the very early 90s, so I thought it might be him.

So who is it then?

Yes, but only vaguely. Didn't he come from Leeds United?

Dunno - I only know he was playing for Manchester City at the time and faded into obscurity for reasons unknown, probably injury.

He played for Sheffield United in 1996/97 season. You know, the one in which we nearly went bust smiley - erm
