Green-Eyed Flies

SashaQ writes: Recently I was birdwatching at RSPB Burton Mere while sitting in the 'fly corner' of the reception building. Various different species of fly had made their home in that particular part of the wooden building. Most fascinating to me were a green-eyed horsefly and a Chrysops (a deer fly, with black bands on its wings) that also had bright green eyes.
