This is an intriguing chapter - elements of 39 by Queen A733619 and a book I read some years ago - The Game by Monica Hughes, about people who play a computer game about life on another planet, and then the game becomes real

You are right, it reminds a bit of that song. I wasn't aware of that. And the setting of this story was very much inspired by simulation games, so you are right about that, too.
