One thing I noticed when I was in Europe was how ubiquitous candles were, especially votive candles. Prague, Vienna, much of Italy. I see candles in my church, naturally, but they aren't overwhelming. In Prague and Vienna they were present in great quantities. I remember how many there were in Saint Vitus Church.
