I enjoyed "Renfield" more than most of the critics did.
It's nice not to be alone. 
I saw "2010" so long ago that I cant even remember much about it. Was that the one where a spaceship had to use the solar slingshot effect to get to Jupiter in time to save the day, or was that the last movie in the franchise?
You don't want to feed carbon-based entities to non-carbon-based creatures. They die horribly.

Yeah, they do. And it makes a mess.
I think you're remembering the right one - they use the US vessel's fuel to get around Jupiter in order to push the Soviet vessel far enough away from the planet in time for the opening of the stargate.
