Sycamores tend to have long future.

A sycamore can live nearly 600 years, unless it gets cut down. There was a large one across the river from me, but it was removed when they straightened the road

I'm assuming these are from Acer pseudoplatanus, which is what is called a sycamore in the UK - although online sources say that sometimes in Scotland they're also called 'plane trees'.

This is the kind of tree that stood for a couple of hundred years at Sycamore Gap in Hadrian's Wall until a vandal cut it down recently.

Here's information from the Woodland Trust.

Does your sycamore have bark that flakes off? I think that's Platanus occidentalis. That's the one I knew as a sycamore growing up - my grandmother had one in her yard. Those are longer-lived than the UK ones.
