How did you get it to stay still while you snapped the picture?

I see plenty of dragonflies, but don't usually have my camera with me. I tried three times to photograph a Monarch butterfly. The first two times were futile. The third might be barely passable. We'll see.
That's why I like plants. They don't fly away when I'm photographing them
