It look just like the real world. Small justices happen while the systemic errors remain.

A captivating story all the way through. Loved reading it.
Thanks!

Unfortunately I must confess I had troubles with reading this story. One killed baby after another... smiley - erm I was close to quitting reading several times because the main 'theme' as such was quite difficult for me to digest. And not in a good and thought-provoking way. smiley - sadface I would have liked to see more progress/change, also maybe see more of this world as a whole. The whole thing about DNA testing and such could also have been done much more efficiently with not fully-grown babies. It really bothers me.smiley - erm

You probably wouldn't have liked the "amateur aborteur" sketch from a Dutch comedian duo then. About a man who performs abortions as a hobby. Up to the age of twelve, because that really is the age where you know as a parent if you want to keep it or not. It is one in a series of satirical absurdist improvised mock radio interviews. That was 1994-ish. Not sure if they would still air it nowadays. (Maybe they would, it is still the Netherlands.)

I wonder if those Dutch comedians gave credit to Philip K Dick, then? He wrote a similar short story in 1974 called the 'Pre-Persons'. In his version, 12 was the age at which one understood algebra.

Dick really shouldn't have done it. It was an even more unbalanced view of life than usual - he had developed issues with drugs and a morbid fear of his ex-wife...

Just a heads-up: the author of our current story has taken cognizance of your feedback. He has device issues so he can't log in here. But he has added six chapters to this story and sent them to the editor. They will continue to appear in this space.

So, reports of this novella's completion have exaggerated. smiley - winkeye
