It's an towing device from a UFO. It attaches itself to the hood of a car. The UFO then flies directly over the car and attaches a rope to the loops on the two ends. This is how the car will be pulled into the UFO. What the aliens don't realize is that the driver could press the hood release, and the hood could come off, so the UFO would find itself with car hood. I won't tell them if you don't

I nearly got it right.
Carfishing is new to me. You should take care not to drive into the water (see youtube for examples, maily to do with getting boat trailers in or out of the water)
Do you also have a gasoline powered winch to reel in the line?

This reminds me of when we were kids, riding in the big '57 Chevy out to the lake to fish. With all the cane fishing poles sticking out the back window.
