My mother always wore a straw hat when she was in the garden (which was a lot of the time). She had a lot of operations to remove skin cancer. They say that if you got a bad sunburn in your first ten years of life, you were likely to get skin cancer later on. Nowadays, people that live where the ozone is depleted have to be very careful when they go outside.
