I am also a resident of the fine city of Chicago and used to work at the Museum of Science and Industry. I think you should definately mention the replica of the Coal Mine and the New Zephyr train. I don't know if you have been recently but they remodeled the model train exhibit and it is bigger and better (complete with parts of Chicago and little El trains). You should definately take the kids and check it out if you haven't.
