It was made for 100 million, and got 40% of that in its first weekend. (I was part f that take). The similarity to "Monty Pythion and the holy grail" was evident at the beginning, but faded somewhat.
I loved the irreverence, but I also liked that the stuntwork and coordination were excellent. The people who like D&D will be happy, and the non-D&D people like me will also be happy.

For what it's worth, Chris Pine seems born to play princes and medieval Renaissance characters. He was in "The princess diaries 2," "Into the woods" and now this. It's refreshing that he's playing a rascal here.
