Harry Belafonte was picked 7 times in this game, first in 2007 by myself. He was twice on GB’s list, in 2016-17.

MMF - Keeper of Mustelids, with added P.M.A., is now in a relationship. Posted May 23, 2023
One of the most popular entertainment characters who went from Hero to Zero n the most unexpected and disgraceful falls from Grace has died.
Once a person of whom I was a fan and whose singles my deaf Grandfather enjoyed has died, aged 93.
A person much loved by old and young alike and whose career spanned decades, with television, music and art all featuring before, in the wake of the infamous Jimmy Saville expose, he was convicted of a string of paedophile abuses.
Rolf Harris. My Grandfather would often sit and listen to “Two Little Boys”, possibly reminiscing about his time in WWI.
He may be reviled but I still can’t help having fond memories of him during my childhood.
His catchphrase, “Can you tell what it is yet?”
It is hard to think that he will be erased from media because of his actions.

I will miss the pleasure you gave me on television, but feel for your victims.

He was part of my childhood too, MMF. But I can't forgive him for his crimes against innocent children/women. When I was on my last cruise (2012) there was an exhibition of Rolf Harris original artworks and you could buy them () they were priced in the tens of thousands of pounds. You wonder what the owners of such art (notorious artists) do with their "investments" when the truth comes out. I also remember that the late Queen Elizabeth II posed for him, not knowing what we know now

GB, I am not excusing his crimes, far from it. I am just recalling all the pleasure he gave to so many. His crimes are inexcusable, and the trauma and experiences of his victims will live with them forever. But I still cannot forget all the pleasure and experiences he gave me as a child. I also wonder how many artists and singers were inspired by him when there weren’t the facilities available now. Tough one to call in my opinion.

Bluebottle Posted May 24, 2023
Things are rarely black and white. While we know now with hindsight that he used his position to prey on others, he did doubtlessly inspire others unaware of his shady background to enjoy his music, take up art and become vets etc. Anyone he inspired is innocent of his wrongdoing, and did nothing wrong at the time for taking pleasure from his programmes. We the audience were duped and misjudged him – that is his fault and not ours.
So his legacy is complex as he remains both inspirational and a monster. But all the positives of the people he inspired belong solely to those he inspired, who are innocent of his crimes, and he is left remembered only as a monster.

Thanks Coelacanth!
Josef Schütz, Nazi war criminal, was picked by Bluebottle for the first time in 2023:
http://www.timesofisrael.com/102-year-old-convicted-former-nazi-camp-guard-dies-while-awaiting-appeal/
Daniel Ellsberg, activist, was picked by Coelacanth in 2022 and 2023:
http://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2023/jun/17/daniel-ellsberg-obituary
But as Josef Schütz died on the 13th of the month, Bluebottle gets a 5-point bonus, which puts him into a slender lead. It’s still a two-horse race, but as we saw last year, things can change quickly.
