Hans Christian Anderson's "The Little Mermaid" would be appropriate, except that this mermaid doesn't look little.
Joseph Haydn wrote a song called "The mermaid's song," which features the line 'Follow, follow, follow me," which this mermaid can't do because (1.) she is made of stone, and would sink, and 2. is fastened to that pedestal.

Yes, this mermaid draws me to her, rather than expecting me to follow her anywhere.
This mermaid isn't little, and would sink indeed, even if she weren't stuck to a moulded rock!
