Our geese are still sitting on their eggs.

Had the duck eggs hatched when the picture was taken?

These ducks didn't have any eggs to hatch. These are ducklings that have grown up.

When I say they lay eggs, I meant for consumption. The farmer orders the new ones as peeps - they arrive by mail already hatched and peeping. Or are fetched from the supplier.

Also, if you go to Tractor Supply, they'll have lots of them in between the animal food and the planting supplies.

Oddly, some of the people around here were alarmed at the idea of eating duck eggs, until they found out they'd been eating them for weeks without knowing. smiley - winkeye The Hoggetts give away eggs to people at the church - they just didn't tell them the larger ones were from the ducks.

Duck eggs are tasty and nutritious, and ducks are highly entertaining. smiley - laugh

I hope someone will post a reply by April 25 2023. It would be a shame to have it go unanswered for two years
