Where I live, there hasn't been much snow, just grey, dreary days with lots of rain.
But I can imagine the door of some underground dungeon opening, and a group of dishevelled prisoners stumbling out into a snowy landscape...

If the dungeon door is not frozen shut...
Like the colour contrast of the flower pots.
We had about 24 hours of good snowman quality snow in January and thought that winter had come and gone. Then we got one week of powder snow with high winds to form dunes (no use to build anything with that) and skating ice. Now it is 18 degrees C. (switched from snowsuit to shorts). It helps a bit in relieving the locked in feeling.

There is still snow everywhere, but we can see grass in between now. 
It was 13C yesterday. Pittsburgh tweeted that everybody was complaining how hot it was.
