Hey,
I've worked with horses for years too, i've been kicked, bitten, trampled, had several bones broken.........but why oh why do I still love them??!!!???
I think it must be some sort of disease, where once you fall in love with them there's no escape!!
I spent a few years with warm bloods and escaped pretty unharmed, but I agree with you about the throroughbreds, epecially the yearlings coped up for 23 hours a day! I don't know how they're treated in the US, but here (UK) they get a pretty raw deal. Weaned, dumped in stables then backed a few months later, hardly a suprise they turn out the way many do.
Lets hope a few more people realise what the horses go through to provide a few minutes entertainment and their fate when they no longer make the mark.
