I wonder whether the real quails would have been as cute as the pictures. Care to comment?

Thanks a lot that you find my quails cute! I was not feeling very satisfied with the illustration. As for the real birds ... I'd say they were cuter! But then I love all quails and partridge-like things. Really sad that these are gone.

I've never seen them in the flesh and alive. I have to depend on pictures.

Well certainly you haven't seen *these* ... but haven't you seen any quails or quail-like birds in the 'feather'?

I've seen quail in Tennessee. I haven't seen any around here, though I believe there are some. We mostly see wild turkeys.

There is a farm near me that supplies quail eggs to a local shop, but I haven’t yet seen a quail ‘in the feather’. I have seen red legged partridges, though - a flock landed in my street (probably on an excursion from a game reserve) and they were funny the way they ran around

I've seen wild turkeys here in the Park. I see more ducks and Canada geese every day than I have in years. Must be a good year for them.

Plus bunnies galore. But we started talking about birds, which bunnies are not.
