A Conversation for Mystery Flower of the Week

I was hoping someone had beat me to it and identified it

No such luck.

Can I assume that it's something native to North America, Dmitri? It's not Monarda/Bee Balm, because the leaves are too big and long. Likewise Azaleas, besides which they are out of season unless you have the Encore Azaleas which repeatedly bloom. (Probably need a lot of work to keep them going though.)

It's a nice, attractive plant. Too bad i can't help. smiley - sadface

Thanks for trying! I'm sure it's native, nobody planted it, I don't think.

If it's a Knapweed, then it's native to central Europe, and is considered invasive in some places, like Washington State

Environmentalists in Massachusetts are none too fond of it, either.

It seems that it doesn't take much to make some people worry. smiley - winkeye
