In that area there are mostly fields and no trees. I actually think it has its own charm, but for the animals more trees would certainly be better, you are right.

This is a frequent sight in northern Mississippi - where there are lots of big fields of cotton, corn, etc. smiley - smiley The lone tree - or small stand of trees - is really welcome in the hot summer. smiley - smiley

This kind of photo is not only elegant visually, but illustrates a way of life through a glimpse of the landscape. smiley - bluebutterfly

Yes, that sounds about right. smiley - smiley You get fields, fields and fields, drive up a low hill, down a low hill, up a low hill... and in between you'll go through the middle of a small village.

Caiman raptor elk - Inside big box, thinking.

It reminds me of various battle movie scenes where one lone knight crests the hill. Followed by the rest of the huge army ten seconds later. Maybe there's a forest just waiting to attack.
