heheh. That road movie is hilarious. Fireclouds approaching! All lifeforms on or near the road, leap out of the way, now! Nice soundtrack.
Always informative and enlightening to see a Phred Firecloud travelogue piece.
What about the moose picture? Is that a moose? It must be a moose. It's huge! Is it bigger than a horse? What do you do, when you find yourself eye to eye with this wondrous creature?
Fine work, as always, Sir.

Get upwind of it - moose hate the smell of humans and will run away. At least, that's what the Canadian moose expert told us when we were in school.

Oh really?
Always good to have a Canadian moose expert standing by, with excellent advice.

We left our RV at the beginning of the road into the park. Our hostess is in her 70s. She has a fish wheel on s trailer that she uses to scoop up salmon in season. She is the postmaster and makes art that she sells sometimes. She has two bedrooms inside to rent and three RV spots to hook-up for the night. She directs me to a good spot to fish.
About 45 miles down this 60-mile former railroad track, is a structure called the "Sportman's Lodge"...You enter and find yourself in a living room/kitchen with a bar along one wall. They have pinot grigio so we order a glass and discuss moose hunting.
There is nothing else on the 60-mile road before reaching the copper ruins. They dug out the copper and dumped all the leftover stuff in unsightly piles that go on for miles.

Very atmospheric description! As always, with your writing.
It takes me to a place I'll never go to in real life. Good way to travel! Read Firecloud travelogues. heheh.
