I guess, though, that any self-respecting bird would get tired of people going around with cameras, and would want to go into seclusion for some me-time. Maybe there's a nest somewhere, or another bird of the opposite gender.

Yes, that is the challenge of being a bird photographer - sometimes/often frustrating, but makes it all the more rewarding when a photo turns out well smiley - biggrin

I went out for my walk yesterday and found a pile of feathers on the pavement, so I feared the worst, but Daleks and friend appeared soon afterwards, so that was a relief - collared doves are quite rare here these days. Must have been a woodpigeon that had gone into the foodchain instead...
