Yes, I blush to admit it.
The Perry Mason episode mentioned aired on June 13, 1959. I probably saw it, but don't remember a b it of it.
I had no clue who was the guilty party in "Knives out." Or the remake of "Murder on the Orient Express," (assuming that the guilty party was apprehended at all).
Sometimes an author doesn't explain much because the reader simply can read the previous books in the series.
Anyway, I give this entry high marks. Brief allusions to things can pay big dividends. And the reader is left puzzling out why things happened the way they did. What a way to get the reader involved in the story!

Thanks, Paul. I got that Perry Mason quote from a novel, not the tv episode - but I think I've seen that one, too.
