FWR:
Two notoriously difficult things to photograph here. Nighttime and snow.
This one works well. The car headlights bleaching out the roadway adds stark contrast to the darkness. Just enough detail in the scene to give us the winter chills.
DG:
The Prof saw the video I made on this night, or one like it, and said he was glad he didn't live here - too much like 'The Exorcist', he said. I don't know what to make of that. I was just trying to convey a typical Pennsylvania winter night when it's snowing. Spooky or not, it happens.

I caught the same vibes as the prof, but the movie I thought of was a different one: "Zodiac." There's a night scene where the Zodiac killer comes to a secluded place where two teenagers are in a car. needless to say, he kills them
Cue "Hurdy gurdy"

I haven't seen that movie, but I love the Donovan song. Never associated it with serial killers, though.

That looks cold and isolated, very atmospheric photograph looks like the 1960;s

There is something about the scene that screams "60s."

"Just enough detail in the scene to give us the winter chills. "
Yes indeed... I like how the patches of light draw the eye into the photo, and the black and white emphasises the patterns of light and dark
