Squirrels plant acorns under my mobile home. I have to cut them back or try to pull them up so they don't push my house up.
Have you ever tried to pull up an oak? Their roots are extensive.

Back Walnut trees secrete Juglone, a chemical that makes it hard for many plants to grow.
There are some plants, however, that can grow near walnuts in spite of this:

There are three very large oaks within sixty feet of my house. I could build houses in their branches if I wanted to. I will graciously leave it to others to do so if they wish.
