Apart from the obligatory cute DG animal shot, awww, the lighting in this shot is interesting. Backlighting produces the detail in the dog's shape, downlighting stops the detail of the knitwear from being overly shadowed or bleached out, and the light from front left gives lovely highlights to the fur and (leather?) stool.
DG:
Nah, the 'leather' is faux. Anyway, sometimes I can reach the camera fast enough when they do something cute, and this was one of those times.
