FWR:

Sunset, low clouds and the Welsh hills look great in colour, but the old ironwork in the foreground provides a more interesting silhouette in black and white. Photographing this time of day gives lovely shadows. Try playing with the different lighting throughout the day.

DG:

The different lines and textures are great, too. Flowing water and the sharp points of those spikes sticking up, and then the bushes...lots for the eye to process there.

A very dramatic image, excellent positioning of the fence, it is dominant but not overwhelming.
Well done it gets the imagination going.smiley - ok

Now, that is one bodacious comb! I gather that the BFG uses it occasionally?

A dramatic image indeed - excellent.

Good learning points here, too - landscapes can be quite pale and indistinct in black and white, as I found in October A87953340 , but finding something bold in the foreground helps the viewer to 'read' the image smiley - ok
