I've been scolded in the past for using wolves as heavies in a story for little children. You live and learn.
I never could fathom what is at work inside the Joker's head. Nor how he was able to assemble such a huge collection of explosives in that movie that was one of Heath Ledger's last. Was the idea for this the product of the writers, or did Ledger insist on it?
Woody Allen had a joke about a Hollywood actress who tried to get ahead by sleeping with a writer. When I was younger, and had my whole life ahead of me, I did in fact audition for acting roles. I never thought about trying to become a writer for TV or films. Of course, I *was* influenced by "Cagney by Cagney," which was critical of the writing in Hollywood during the 1930s. Cagney felt that the actors saved a lot of films by sending poor dialogue back. Was he right? I'll never know for sure.

The new Joker movie reveals exactly what's in his head....and it ain't pretty! Monster or victim time (again).

Thanks for that.
I've gone into Joker overload, so I'm not exactly unbiased here. Cesar Romero, Jack Nicholson, Heath Ledger, now Joaquin Phoenix. Are people going to these movies because they believe that the films are well-written, or because they love to see horrendous characters on the screen? Color me cynical, but if a writer handed in a script that had high-quality writing, I wouldn't bet on its being accepted.

Put your can of cynical away my friend, whilst I'm not Said or DG, I thought this was a very well written script, insights into mental illness and the monsters we all possess but thankfully don't release. Very dark.

I didn't see this movie, but I'll consider it.
