Great Entry - thank you!

Yes, Beer & Bus themed socks would be handy when the weather is wet! smiley - laugh

"I was beginning to wonder where my two friends were, even though neither of whom look overly like SashaQ despite Facebook's facial recognition software believing otherwise." smiley - snorksmiley - ok

Thanks for the link to the Land Appeal - I made a small donation myself, and see they have done well but have a bit more to do to reach the target by the end of the month smiley - goodluck

"St Austell's 'Proper Job' in proper pint glasses with handles." - proper indeed smiley - cheers

That is a tale of two tickets indeed smiley - laugh Ticket to Ryde with the Magical Mystery Tour bus logo has the best logo smiley - magic Did you have a preference in relation to the taste, or were they each as good as the other in different ways?

Glad you enjoyed your Sunday Lunch - I hope it was served on a plate

That is good news about the pubs that had been forced to close smiley - cheers

That reminds me – my friend who smiley - facepalmsmiley - book thinks is you has asked if I could send him a photo of you just because he is curious as to why you two are always being confused. Obviously I wouldn't send him one unless I have your permission (and the photo of your choice).

If you look at the map on the page http://www.hiwwt.org.uk/iowland then where it says 'Acad' is where I went to High School smiley - prof (my middle school was across the road but has since been demolished) – I remember when all those fields were nowt but fields, and so would like to keep 'em that way.

I must admit I did prefer the Goddard's (Magical Mystery Tour) Ticket to Ryde, which is odd as I'm not normally fussed about a porter smiley - stout. My mate Daniel is an atheist and really doesn't believe in Goddard's, preferring almost every smiley - ale to it.

And yes – Sunday lunch was indeed served on a plate. That's one of the good things about that pub restaurant. It is slightly on the posh side, but not pretentious and not above the use of plates.

smiley - laugh Great idea! I will have a look later to find a photo that will hopefully give him a really good laugh!

That is interesting that the porter smiley - stout was more to your taste as well as the logo smiley - ok Blonde beer is going to the opposite end of the spectrum! Do you usually prefer the mid-range smiley - ale? I find blonde beer can be pleasantly light, but mid-range does have a bit more flavour to it (one year my uni had a pop up brewery that did a delicious mid-range real ale, but then it disappeared, which was a shame). I enjoyed smiley - stout when on holiday in Ireland, but I do prefer smiley - cider

I won't deny that it is a possibility that I was biased based on the much better logo, Beatles-themed and everything, but it did have its own taste whereas the Ringwoods' Ticket was fine, but to me I didn't find it distinctive. I must admit I was confused as it wasn't at all what I was expecting when I asked for it.

I wonder what the laws are regarding beer names are. I assume you can't trademark the name of an event ale, and chances are both breweries benefitted from people thinking, 'Oh, there are two beers with the same name so I'll buy both and compare them'.

Ah, yes 'distinctive' is a good word, and they were at a disadvantage with confusing you indeed smiley - laugh I can imagine they both thought it was too good a pun to miss and accidentally picked the same name - tricky to name ales indeed http://text.npr.org/s.php?sId=369445171

I had fun with photos and sent you an e-mail smiley - ok

I suppose the real test would be to see whether both beers are on sale at the event next year. Oh no – I've got a reason to go back nowsmiley - yikes

And photo received, thanks. smiley - ta
