It must be a very scenic area. A diner at the Jagersteig restaurant mentioned sitting on the terrace and enjoying the view over the Rhine Valley into France and the Vogesen mountains.

(Of course, I can't be sure that there aren't more than one Jagersteig. None of the place names on the signs lined up with the other information given.)
I've always wanted to visit the Black Forest. "The Hidden life of trees" was written by a man who works in the Black Forest. Heck, I'ed love to hike the trails in that photo.
