FWR:

Almost black and white works well in this one. All about textures and tricking the eye!

The gap in the stonework perfectly fits the shape of the bird. This was either cleverly staged or a lovely quirk of chance, the bird "nesting" looks very natural. Nice artistic imagery.

DG:

We have these artistic choices we can make nowadays, like near-monochrome, or choosing to highlight just one colour. I love to see these tricks taken advantage of!

" When Walt Kelly's Pogo and his friends went to the Melbourne Olympics in 1956 they encountered a kangaroo named Basher who was given to saying "stone the crows""

This predates a band named Stone the crows, which was formed in Glasgow in late 1969.

There's also some evidence that crow-stoning was an actual activity in Australia in the 1800s.

With my tendency to put my smiley - footinmouth, I am sure to eat some crow form time to time. smiley - erm
