"We don't need any more ghosts around here..." was the warning given at each intersection by our guide.

Tonight was the Ghost Walk! Put on by the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce, with the help of the local high school's drama club (which PaperKid is a part of), it was definitely focused more on the county's historical personages, from the time of the settlers through to the longest serving Secretary of State, Cordell Hull, than it was on the smiley - ghost bit--no scariness at all smiley - smiley It was very entertaining and informative, and I think I may revisit some of the locations when it's light out--and warmer than 42F/5.5C! Due to the temperatures, the Walk ended at 9pm instead of the planned 11pm. PaperKid was Yankee John Stafford, one of the few Union soldiers from the county (OK, he was a private for a year when he was 15) and a rather colorful lawyer. I filmed most of the monologue, missing just the first couple of sentences. I set the video to Public, so even those not on FB should be able to watch it (if not, I can put it on YouTube instead, and re-link below). https://www.facebook.com/amy.pawloski.5/videos/10156803508183597/

Yes, and some of the costumes were less conducive than others to layering, poor kids! PaperKid got off lucky--she said the only things really cold were her feet and hands. Since I didn't get off work until the Walk had been running for 2.5 hours, I missed the Poet Laureate, the River Boy, and Yankee John Stafford's granddaughter, the singer. (Some of the dead that had returned to sleep had parents that had to be at work at 4am, so they would've been gone, regardless.) Our guide was missing her shawl, because the building that they'd gotten ready in, and had been told that they could enter to use the restroom when necessary, was locked...
