I never figured out why so many American towns west of he Mississippi had water towers as opposed to some other way of storing water.
When I see photos like this, I don't stop to find out whether the locale in the photo might be in a geographical area where water towers would be common. What you see is what you get, so if you think you see a water tower, then a water tower is what you get.
My sense of logic is unraveling today
