Thanks Sasha! When I first looked at the picture I was quite surprised about how many details my phone camera managed to catch.

Wow, that is impressive - I would have guessed that the photo had been taken by a camera with a Macro lens, as the focusing is very sharp!

Our proper camera was kaputt about 2 years ago but the phone cameras are so good by now that we didn't buy a new one. We were also disappointed because the camera only lasted for a very short time until the... thing that opens and closes inside (?) didn't work anymore.

That is disappointing that something as fundamental as the shutter on the camera went kaputt so quickly - not surprising that you found the mobile phone camera to be so much better

Mobile phone cameras are also good that they can see through telescopes so you can get impressive results that way, too. My bridge camera lens is large and doesn't fit over the eyepiece of all telescopes, but I try occasionally! http://www.flickr.com/photos/sashaq99/24275987845
