As you can probably guess, I've a bit crazy over pollinators lately smiley - blush. The good news is that moths like the ones you've photographed are more important than previously believed. Under cover of darkness, they can carry pollen between plants over long distances.

That brass moth looks like a nice one, but I hope it wouldn't produce caterpillars that might eat my cereal smiley - cross.

At the end of every year, crowds of winter moths gather arund ym doorway

They're supposed to raise havoc with trees, but our trees seem unmiolested, so the moths are just a curiosity.

Thanks paulh smiley - biggrin

That's good that the Winter Moth caterpillars aren't doing particular harm to your trees. Reminds me a bit of the Harlequin Ladybirds A87926043 that gather in autumn.

I like moths, but tend to only see small brown ones close up, so I enjoyed studying these more unusual types smiley - biggrin
