It plats fine. The led Zeppelin I have is called "Mothership." I don't know how many songs are on both that and your album.

The two popular songs that I hear but never remember are "Stairway to heaven" and "Bohemian rhapsody." I like them fine, it's just that they don't stick in my memory. smiley - blush

I must have memorized songs more easily when I was in my teens. I remember olots of songs that I wish I could forget smiley - cross.

Well, we have a world composed of numerous nations and languages, each with its cultural history extending back several decades at least. I'm not going to collect all the recordings by any one person or group, as that would prevent me from sampling the hundreds (thousands) of other worthy persons or groups. Let's try sampling outside the English-speaking world. France had Johnny Halliday. Sweden had ABBA and two or three other notable groups. Germany has some good groups, as do japan and Mexico. Central America has a bright singing star.

Rock music is a concentration of one genre in one time period. It was never the *only* popular genre, even at its peak. In the late fifties, rock music seemed to have no future, so folk music seized its chance. And nowadays almost nothing new is considered rock music.

Rock music's ship[ has sailed. It's okay to still enjoy the best groups, but it's also okay to enjoy jazz, country-Western, soul, rhythm & Blues, disco, and anything else that has much of a following.

Why rush to geto n a sinking ship? smiley - smiley

FWR

Oh dear, what an insulated view of the vibrant Rock scene that has never gone away and is, in fact, flourishing world wide! Times have moved on from the hippies and big haired lycra clad bands of decades gone.
Enjoy the bands from the past, but revel in the new talent that is evidently not on a sinking ship.

smiley - footinmouth

Sorry if I've opened another smiley - canofworms.

If it's vibrant and it's music, I have no quarrel with it. I don't think I'll be able to keep up with it, though. smiley - sadface

I've heard that jazz is still alive and doing well, in many different forms. I can't keep up with that, either. And a recent Post quiz showed that there are new opera developments.

I still manage to keep up with movies, which often feature new songs and current singers....

each generation will have a music genre "to remember"
but alas! many will fade away into history.
But! Like classics = bait hoven smiley - winkeyeetc to jazz/soul/blues/rock and roll/heavy rock, even punksmiley - erm will be remembered for many centuries as long as "music" is still made smiley - smileyno matter what instruments or concepts etc are used to create it

I like the resonance of that video, Dmitri. smiley - ok

The deeper tones sound like voices to me.

You can ply me with deep sonics and make me very happy indeed. smiley - winkeye

The links I provided in my earlier posts in this thread would probably be popular with Recumbentman and Gnomon, who love to sing in choral groups.

To be honest, I gravitate to choral sounds in pop music as well. I love the sound of Crosby, Stills and Nash. I thought the Beatles had a very good blend, too. Pink Floyd knew how to make awesome group sounds. New Kids on the block had a very good sound, though I wasn't thrilled by their lyrics. smiley - sadface That was a wasted opportunity, I thought.

Are there any newer groups with a good group sound?
