Experimenting with depth of field and spot focus on this one.
The textures of the skin, gills and the spores (forgive me if I'm mistaken on that) begged for a close-up shot.

The change of the focus on the subject is clever: the in-focus detail is all that was needed. Very artistic with a touch of drama.

I love mushrooms. They are fascinating. They grow in all sorts of places I never expected to see them.

Yes, the mushroom dance in Fantasia is good!
That is a clever photo indeed, that most of it is out of focus, but there is no doubting what the subject is when we see the detail in the spot focus area
