The Perkins franchises have been around a long time, and they've had ups and downs. I tried to track down a location that had both Advance Auto parts and Perkins Family restaurants. Titusville seemed to fit the bill, and the local press has carried news about possible impending closure.
I rather like these longstanding chains that cater to people who want comfort food. None of the New England states have any Perkins restaurants. We have a few Friendly's restaurants, but those are endangered as well.

It's not that important to me, Dmitri. I like to get a sense of context when I see or read something. It made sense to me that the Titusville newspaper would have an article about Perkins' impending closure, so they put a sign up to counter people's fears.

That might be a factor, yes. I haven't been reading the Titusville paper, so I didn't know. We tend to read the Oil City Derrick.
