Notes from bobstafford:

This is a simple example of being ready, there are so many "photographers" who carry a camera over their shoulder, in the camera case. There is nothing wrong with that but being ready has its advantages, weather permitting, if you walk with the camera in your hand you're ready for the unexpected*.

The photograph of the cat was taken just because of being ready. The cat suddenly started chasing something in the field, and the shot was possible. The point is there is always a possibility of a photo if you are ready. If you get in the habit of carrying in your hand it can give you many more opportunities to capture the unexpected

Give it a try sometime.

*It puts you into photographic mode and you tend to take more and often better photographs.

I love this picture. smiley - smiley It shows a cat in action, very purposeful. It also reminds us that cats aren't all about looking pretty...

I once looked out my window and saw three black cats walking down my street together. Probably a mother and her two half-grown kittens. The way they moved was so elegant it could have been a ballet. smiley - wow

I've heard that it's almost scary how similar a cat's nervous system is to a human's.

Yes, I am definitely a cat-lover. Maybe I'm also too much of a perfectionist sometimes. Knowing how ineffably graceful a cat can be when in motion, I want to wake up any sleeping cats I find (not that I would really do that!) and urge them to be all that they can be.

It's all a paradox wrapped up in a mystery, etc., etc...

Don't forget the enigma...

That is clearly a nice shot. Lucky for the cat it was a camera you you used for shooting it, or it would have been down one life.

I am itching to add some big prey in this picture for the cat to catch.
