A Conversation for One For Sorrow

Well done. This builds up plenty of tension - the caring father, the lively child, the threat of an accident - before releasing it.
It's interesting how those old superstitions hang around... as if there was some truth in them.

Thanks for reading.
The original had an altogether darker ending.
The magpie rhyme illustrating the sorrow often brought by needless distractions on our modern roads, but my wife and DG sought a happier ending, and it did fit with Writing Right, so, outvoted, the rewrite is what you see here!
Still don't know which one I personally prefer. Should look for a career writing those shock horror road safety videos!
Cheers.

I think our perceptions are often coloured by our personal experiences.
I bumped into an old colleague last week, I was complaining about how slow the day was going, how boring the shift was.
His reply was "Enjoy it mate, at least bones trying to kill you, not like the old days!"
Good point well made....
Key: Complain about this post
