Apart from awwww, cuteā€¦.

The white fur against the kitten's black friend is a lovely contrast and highlights the detail.

The graininess of the image adds to the fuzzy effect, which, in this case, adds to the texture. Sometimes cropping a shot to zoom in, adds grain.

Handy hint time, DG!

It's hard to get animals to *pose* for a photo, one thing to be aware of with any portrait is *false projections*, we've all taken a lovely shot only to realize that a tree or other background object appears to be growing antler-like from our subjects head!

In this case, poor kitty has four ears!

Simply altering our point of view can eliminate (unless you want a Caption Challenge shot) these false projections. For kitty - holding the camera lower would hide the cat directly behind the subject, coming higher would bring the other kitten into the shot more, so avoiding the four eared beast.

In any portrait work, check out the background before the final shot, much easier with digital, instant playback cameras than with film, thank goodness.

But, awwww, cute!

A rarity, a wistful angelic kitten, all kittens are cute.

The light is excellent and adds texture The black kitten is giving a feeling of depth to the photograph. The third kitten is shy but its ears give it away.

[Editor's Note: Excellent points! Now see the Post Front Page for where that extra pair of ears came from. smiley - winkeye]

This is delight and kisses but because its black and white it is so different to some delight and kissy pics. It has that something other that b/w can add, that extra dimension, that I still haven't found words for.

It also reminds me of a postcard I had once when I had my postcard collection, aged about ten.

I adored every single postcard and thanks for the reminder. Maybe its the same postcard, returned in spirit. I can say flaky girlie things like that, I'm allowed. Hoho
