George Washington wore a wig and had wooden false teeth. The two Roosevelts relied on lenses to help them see; one of them also needed wheeled transport so he could get around. With Lincoln, I think about the top hat that made him so iconic.

So, it took more than maize. People need a *lot* of technical support as they age and become prominent in public affairs.
