Living in an area with a massive gull population as I do, this was easy-peasy.

Just below centre - wings folded in - Waldo the Mediterranean Gull has a total black head and a red beak.

Great image! I should probably try to snap the awesome gulls who flock down on Grimsby Fish Docks when I turn up with the remains of last week's loaf.

What sorts of gulls greet you when you throw bread out? I mostly see Black Headed Gulls and Herring Gulls, but there are a few Common Gulls, and then a very few Mediterranean Gulls. I believe there are some Terns around at the moment, but I haven't seen any yet.

We don't get any seagulls around here, though I have wasted...er, spent a couple of hours this afternoon trying to find out more about the ocean-going war galleys built in Pittsburgh in the late 1790s...

It seems one became a merchant vessel and was carrying Monongahela whiskey to the port of Leghorn in Italy. Where Custom House almost confiscated the ship on the grounds that 'there's no such home port as...let me see...'Pittsburgh'.'

Apparently, they were lucky enough to be able to find it on a map and show them the river route...

You get seagulls in Philadelphia, though.
