Good work an excellent entry 
Carabiniers, cavalry with guns carbines. A term that may not be familiar to some readers.
Perhaps just a few words or footnote, to explain Carabiniers AKA Heavy horse* armoured with breast and back plate and a helmet, carrying a shortened carbine rifle and normally sabres for close combat.
*The English forces at the time had the Scots Greys and others. Today these regiments and have armoured cars or tanks.
