Flowers do a good job of providing a contrast to straight lines and dismal grays. 
This reminds me that I have not yet bought a hanging pot of pansies for my front porch. On the other hand, the daffodils and grape hyacinths that I planted last year are in bloom next to my front steps.
So much to do, so little time.
