It must be frustrating to have so little privacy on the Moon!

Telescopes get better and better. Soon the Moonlings will have to burrow under the Moon's crust to get enough privacy .

At least they still have the other side mostly to themselves. If you look at it the other way, there is nowhere where you can hide on Earth from the gaze of these moonlings.

Never underestimate tree vision goggles.

Did you mean night vision goggles? People who don't have them are green with envy.

I know what I meant. Night vision goggles don't penetrate the canopy of the Boreal forests or rain forests. Tree vision goggles might do that. (If they existed)

Okay.
I didn't think tree vision goggles existed, but it's hard to keep up with all the new advancements that are happening.

Neither did I, until google yielded 113 million hits, so it must be true. Wait, arborist safety glasses is not what I meant. Maybe someone still has some inventing to do after all.

Yes, it is amazing what detail my camera could pick up on the Moon from so far away - I saw the full moon again last night and could see the crater Tycho surprisingly clearly

Hi Sasha
Nicely done it is harder than folk think to get a good moon shot due to the extremes of light. Great images, the last 2 do look as if they have a background of waves breaking on the seashore, clever effect very well done.

The Moon reflects the Sun
Thanks bob
The clouds do look like water reflected in the moonlight - I hadn't thought of that! Yes, it is fascinating what different images can be produced from the extremes of light with different camera settings - I'm enjoying experimenting

Who knows, maybe someday a viable moon colony will be set up, like the
one in "Artemis," by Andy Weir. There is also a private organization named Artemis that is trying to set up a real colony on the Moon.
The Moon could be a good place for solar reflective mirrors. If such mirrors could focus the sunlight and send it to Earth as a strong enough beam, this could power any number of ventures here.

If you want details on your moon photos, try taking a daytime picture of the moon and fiddle with the contrast and darkness levels afterwards.

Great idea! When I was first experimenting with moon photography A87867553 I had more success in the day, but didn't try increasing the contrast to see what could be seen...

Or it could be used as a weapon that is out of reach. (Sorry, I left the humanity filter off again)
I wonder if that is ever going to be more efficient than focusing the sunlight that we already get on earth directly in an earth based installation, I mean, if something breaks down, even mirrors in the middle of the desert are easier to reach.

It would be more practical for any Moon-based solar facilities to be used for nearby moon colonies. That way, someone is nearby to fix the apparatus if it breaks down.
