It amazes me that you could make an organ small enough to fit in a submarine.

I expect that it was designed to be played by Ethel Merman's accompanist.

It wasn't the most-used item on board the submarine as the crew favoured quieter pastimes when they were off-duty, but it was useful for songs other than hymns occasionally!
