Why not have obligatory Christmas snow instead. I don't care when they drop it, as long as it's there.
Just don't give any politician the idea that Christmas cannot go through without snow, or they will put that into legislation.

My parents lived in Horseheads, New York at one time. I used to tease them about this. It's near Elmira. My youngest sister got married and lived in Potsdam - in the north of New York, not Germany. One winter day, my folks decided to go and visit the young couple. They got into the car and headed north.

Somewhere south of Syracuse, there was a sharp line across the road. On the other side of that line, the highway was a sheet of ice. Cars were slipping, sliding, and generally playing 'bumper cars' with each other.

They turned around and went back.
